Oatmeal Cake


Boil 1 1/2 c. water; turn off heat, and soak 1 c. quick oats in it. Let it set for 2 minutes.
Cream 1 stick butter, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 c. granulated sugar
Add 2 eggs, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg,  1 tsp. baking soda,  & 1 1/3 c. flour.
Add oats, and mix all together. Pour into 9" X 13" pan. Bake @ 350 till done.

Frosting: 
6 Tbs. butter,  1/2 c. sugar,  1/4 c. milk,  1 tsp. vanilla,  1 c. coconut,  1/2 c. chopped nuts
Cook over medium heat (stirring frequently) till thickened, then spread over hot cake.

My Mom used to make this cake when I was growing up. 
It's another easy, yummy dessert!
