Garbanzo Bean Soup


1 lb. dried Garbanzo Beans w/ 3 quarts of water
3 carrots, sliced
2-3 ribs/stalks of celery, sliced
4 cloves of garlic
1 c. chopped ham
1 Tbs. salt, 1 tsp. black pepper, 1 tsp. sugar

You could cook this in a crock-pot, a pressure cooker, or any pot you like. 
Just make sure to add water if needed, and cook till beans are to desired tenderness.  
AFTER beans are tender, add 6 oz. of a tomato product (diced, sauce, paste, etc.)
(I used "fresh tomato & basil" out of a jar)

This is down-home comfort food...especially great for a cold, damp evening.
