What A Meal!

He worked hard for every bite,

standing on his head with risky grasp

to retrieve a sunflower seed. Then

he nervously watched as he ate

just in case his safety was

threatened. And I think

he saw me snapping

pics at the window.

Carefree Grace

Lovely it waves in the gentle breeze
Pure and white as fresh fallen snow
And always it makes me marvel
That our Creator fashioned it so

Even Solomon himself was not arrayed
With such tranquil beauty
and carefree grace

A reminder to me of my Father's care
This lovely field of Queen Anne's Lace.

All Is Well

"Cherish the moments;
soon you'll be apart.
Cling to the memories;
clasp them to your heart..."

Though grandbabies move away,
I'm so thankful for the moments
we spent together, the sweetness
of those times, and looking forward
to more of those.

I trust God in this matter
and I know He knows best.
And all is well.

Grain Bouquet

There were handfuls of grain left after the combine finished harvesting
so my husband picked a bouquet for me, and I love it!!!

All The Time

Love spending time with these guys...
singing about elbows and rowing boats and such,
getting slobbery smooches, giggling together,
and being needed in their young lives.
Thankful for the opportunity.
God is good...all the time.
All the time...God is good.

Rusted Arches

Infatuated with numbers and letters, our two year old grandson immediately spotted the "M"
when I showed him the picture of this pretty Purple Finch. It's all in perspective :-)

Calling The Dog

When my husband whistled for the dog, his lil' sidekick rared back and crowed
in an attempt to mimic Pepaw's talents.  He even tried to make a stick whistle!

Fun Learning Tools

Our two year old grandson has recognized all the letters and numbers
for several months now. He learned this by playing with the foam letters and numbers
while in the bathtub. Now he's learned the sounds with the "Endless Alphabet" app
on Mom's phone.  We didn't have to coax him at all as he was so inquisitive
and eager to learn. I sure do love these tools that made it so easy for him!

Patio Nursery

There's nothing complicated about my patio garden / nursery.
It consists of a variety of pots mostly filled with rabbit manure.
Plants are predominantly from seed or cuttings that I've just stuck
down in the moist dirt. It receives full sun and I try to keep it watered
from the nearby hydrant. Enjoying the growth is just that simple!

Fur & Feathers

This is the rest of Meow Moses' family. I happened upon them in the chicken pen!
That's the mother on the left; she's wild so all her kittens are afraid of people too.
They were pretty content to play around the chickens...showed no fear of them,
and they let me take pics as long as I kept my distance. They romped around,
keeping a wary eye in case I got too close. Mom dozed, but with ears perked up.

She's caring for four kittens, and she's all over the neighborhood hunting food for them.
That's one busy cat! She kills birds and lizards. Today she attempted to catch a squirrel
but didn't succeed there. She gets water out of our bird bath and the chicken trough.
We have left food for her, but she won't eat it.

The chickens are unconcerned with the furry family which moves in and out of their pen.
