Trusting When I Can't See

A man of wealth and status, ready to retire, and self-satisfied...

I met such a man once who pitied my simple faith. I had told him that I was
trusting a certain outcome to God who was ultimately in control. With sympathy
he studied me before cautiously issuing a warning. "How do I say this?" he stammered.
"I mean, I believe there's a God, but I do not think he's involved in the daily affairs of men."

It was a difficult situation that had brought me to meet this man. And rather than shake my
faith, he made me so thankful that I could trust my God in this matter. I hope he will come
to trust Him too. For all his position and earthly goods, I'd rather have this hope in God.
