Tastier Than Lettuce!

Now, before you try it, I'd suggest you research it,
and definitely make sure you know how to recognize them.
But they are tender-crisp, and sweeter than lettuce.
I plan to add them to salads when they're in season, or maybe to wraps,
or just munch on them when I'm outside and they're available.

Just So Curious!

It is quite too high for me to see, which further piques my curiosity.
What caused the gaping cavity? Is it a home? This hole in the tree?
If I had a ladder I wouldn’t dare to climb or venture way up there.
But someday (this I think I’ll mention) I might just sit, and maybe stare
Watching that spot a little while to figure it out…if I pay attention!

Borage, Zinnias & Marigolds

Loving the lush colors so early in the season :-)
And they all came from seeds that fell last year!

Alyssum

Maybe for the last 10 years I have planted a seed packet of Alyssum with little success.
Last year I had a few little plants that bloomed briefly or insignificantly. I barely remember them.
This year, this came up from dropped seed from those plants last year! It's lovely...purely lovely!

It's A Comfort Food

1 lb. dried Northern Beans
2 c. grated or chopped carrots
1 c. chopped ham (I chop my carrots & ham in the food processor.)
1 chopped onion
2 tsp. salt & pepper to taste
2 Tbs. butter
water to cover all

Cook in tightly covered pot over medium heat till beans are tender.
Be sure to check occasionally to see if you need to add more water
as the beans will absorb the liquid.

Exquisite Existence

After all, they exist just to quietly draw attention to their loveliness, and
to remind us that the same God that provides for them also provides for us!

"And why take ye thought for raiment?
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;
they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you,
That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is,
and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you,
O ye of little faith?"

 Matthew 6:28-30 KJV

The Gift

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."  Romans 6:23

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved."  Romans 10:9
